What does ‘edicated dark fibre mean?

Dedicated Dark Fibre is an exclusive fibre-optic connection that is made available entirely to a single customer. The fibre is ‘unlit’, meaning that the active equipment (e.g. transponders, DWDM, routers) is operated by the customer themselves.

What is the difference between this and Managed Fibre or Ethernet Services?

With Dedicated Dark Fibre, byon provides only the passive fibre-optic link. Unlike with Managed Fibre or Ethernet, byon does not provide any active transmission technology, optical monitoring or bandwidth control. The customer retains maximum technical and financial control.
